Meet Kathleen

​Kathleen Fine is a writer, editor, and content strategist whose work spans fiction, nonprofit storytelling, and marketing communications. Her debut novel, Girl on Trial, won first place for Best YA Debut Novel at the Independent Book Awards (IPPYs) and received critical praise from Kirkus Reviews and Foreword Reviews. More than forty of her short stories have been published in Litro Magazine, Pen in Hand, The Maryland Writers’ Association Anthology, and The Indignor Playhouse Anthology. Kathleen is a member of the Maryland Writers Association, International Thriller Writers, and the Authors Guild. She holds a Master’s degree in Reading Education from Towson University and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park.

When Kathleen is not writing, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to the Outer Banks, and reading anything she can get her hands on. She lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with her husband, three children, a Sussex Spaniel, and a French Bulldog.

Kathleen currently serves as the Content Manager and Writer at Gilchrist Hospice, where she is deeply involved in telling the stories of patients, families, staff, and volunteers with care, sensitivity, and respect. In her role, she develops and oversees content across print publications, digital platforms, email campaigns, presentations, and speeches. Her work requires not only strong writing and editorial skills, but also empathy, discretion, and an ability to honor deeply personal experiences. Kathleen collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, manages multiple projects and priorities, and brings a thoughtful, human-centered approach to every piece of content she creates, helping ensure Gilchrist’s mission of compassionate care is reflected in every story told.
